The
KIT Team (Keeping In Touch) is a group of SA member volunteers
whose goal is to increase the level of communication between ourselves
and the CBE. By becoming more involved and aware of what is taking
place within the CBE, we are hoping to ensure that everyone is
kept well informed about issues and information that is important
to us all.
The
KIT Team itself consists of up to 10 volunteers who attend meetings
of the Staff Association, the Board of Directors and CBE Board
meetings on a rotating basis. Reporting back to the Team, information
is shared and discussed. Currently, the KIT Team is made up of
the following SA members:

CALGARY
BOARD OF EDUCATION - STAFF ASSOCIATION
K.I.T. TEAM TERMS OF REFERENCE
The
K.I.T. (Keeping In Touch) Team includes up to a maximum of 10
core members. Duties and responsibilities of KIT Team members
may include:
• Assisting other Staff Association committees on an as-needed
basis
• Assisting the S.A. Board of Director members with “hands on”
activities as needed (i.e. survey result tabulation)
• Recruiting liaison staff at worksites to act as “first contact”
for S.A. information
• Promoting involvement and awareness of Staff Association activities
and events
• Enhancing communication with all CBE staff
The
KIT Team is involved in the continuous process of maintaining
a group of KIT liaisons – a representative contact at each worksite
who is responsible for ensuring such things as reminders of the
Annual General Meeting, election meetings, information on negotiations,
newsletters, articles and other notices are received and shared
with staff. Our eventual goal is to have at least one liaison
representative at each worksite – similar to the ATA reps. at
each school. The KIT liaison does not have to take on any other
responsibilities, and it only takes a few moments to “spread the
word”!
We’re
always looking for Liaison reps! We have almost 90% or our worksites
covered to date. Please give one of the Kit Team members a call
if you’d like to have your name added to the list!
Sincerely,
Hilary
Smith
KIT Team Chairperson
